Akwasi Boadi, the amusing person we all refer to us Akrobeto has revealed the main reason behind the collapse of Kumawood.
Kumawood is a sobriquet of Akan language speaking movie industry.
The industry has produced great actors and actresses who have provided Ghanaians with quality content.
Sadly, the industry has been retrogressing for the past few years of the digital age influence. Many movie analysts believe that the main reason for the downfall of the movie industry can be attributed to the slow stride at which the industry failed to catch up with technology.
In sharp contrast, the celebrated actor Akrobeto believes the unstable power supply that which became widely known as ”Dumsor” some few years ago, is the right cause of the movie industry doom.
In an interview with Nana Ama McBrown on United Showbiz on UTV monitored by Harmattangh.com, he said ” the light off affected us, it was the first issue before the rest followed, we used to produce movies every week and those who purchased would not have power for them to watch the movie. That collapsed the industry gradually ”.
There has been a recent attempt to as a matter of urgency revive the dwindling movie industry.
From private individuals to governments, are now paying attention and coming up with proposals on the way forward.
