A young boy whose name is not known has met his untimely death at Soe a suburb of Bolgatanga. in the Upper East region.
The boy believed to be about 12 years old drowned around 4:30 pm Saturday afternoon while swimming in the Maclean dam, popularly called.
A young guy who was also walking along the banks said ” he saw the deceased swimming at the edges and advised him to get out but refused”.
He added that he stood there watching on as the deceased swim, this time around making progress into the deeper part of the dam.
It was then at that point he started throwing stones at the deceased in an attempt to persuade him out of the water.
He said the realized the deceased there wasn’t any movement of the deceased anymore. He quickly went round to inform people about it.
Some men together with the assemblyman of the area retrieved the body from the dam, dead.
The assemblyman in the company of other men proceeded to the police station to file a report.
As at the time of filing this report, the police were yet to arrive at the scene.
