Grapevine information available to us confirm that the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has resigned from his post.
He vacated his post effective today 16th November 2020.
According to a report by CitiNewsroom, his resignation was to “enable Your Excellency to take steps to appoint a replacement to that position as required by law.”
Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu was appointed by the President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo on 8th January 2018 as the Special Prosecutor.
He was the first Special Prosecutor to be appointed into the newly created office.
