Corrupt Regional minister? Eoco and BNI must investigate her for “Abuse of Office”. Samuel Mbura

A popular morning show host at A1 radio in the capital of the Upper East region Samuel Mbura, has questioned some recent happenings at the office of the regional minister Honourable Paulina Abayage.

In a Facebook post, the host of Day Break Upper East sought to question the consistent use of FUGU(a locally weaved fabric) by the minister at national events in an attempt to promote the fabric. Which in his opinion is not the only asset of the region and could choose to promote other valuables of the region if only her hands are clean.

According to him, the minister might have her own interest in promoting only FUGU, either she or a relative is into that business and therefore abusing her office to promote it.

He called for a possibility of investigations conducted by EOCO or BNI as corruption is in many forms.

Again he questioned the composition of Madam Abayage’s delegation of only females at the just ended State of the Nations’ Address by President Akuffo Addo at Parliament yesterday.

In his view it is radical feminism.

Voice from the streets !

Is the UER Regional Minister promoting ‘radical feminism’ and whats really her interest in this ‘Fugu’ display?

It is a laudable initiative by the Upper East Regional Minister to have thought of representing the region with the younger generation at this year’s State of the Nation’s Address. But it is a move gone bad in my view because of her composition of the representatives.

I wouldnt have questioned her criteria in selecting her choice if it was at her personal level but here is the case ,the region is being represented .

My understanding is that ,the intention was to promote the local fabric to the world but why the choice of only three young girls in beautifully designed fugu, couldnt she have at least added a boy traditionally dressed in a smock to spice this agenda ?

I’m not being radically chauvinist ,I’m only being realistic here because if it must be done,it must be done well!

Again, what at all is the Minister’s interest in “fugu” all the time,is it the only resource to project?

Does her penchant to always advertise “Fugu” suggest that perhaps she or a relative or an associate is into such a business such that she is perhaps abusing her office to promote a self interest under the guise of projecting the region?

If not, why isnt she spreading equal attention to other worthy resources in the region ?

Is it possible investigations can be conducted by the BNI or EOCO for a possible ‘abuse of office’ by the Minister. I think corruption comes in different forms.

I suggest the Minister also does wider consultation before taking an initiative for the region !
