Eric Bailly, the hospital patient saved by football |Harmattan Gh

We all have seen and testified about how injuries have ruined the footballing careers of many soccer stars. From Abu Diaby, Fernando Torres, Ronaldo and Ghanaian footballer like Kwadwo Asamoah, Michael Essien have all tasted injuries.

Some are quick to bounce back but others never return to the field.

Eric Bertrand Bailly is an invorian defender who plays club football for Manchester united in England. The 25 year old centre back is more of a hospital patient than a footballer.

Manchester united signed the defender for £30 million in the summer of 2016 from Spanish club villareal. He has gone on to make over 50 appearances for the club. But injuries has taken more of the playing time of the defender.

In 2017/2018 season alone, he was on crutches for 100 days missing 21 games for the reds. In total since arriving, he’s stayed on the sidelines for 208 days since 2016 and missed 44 games. Those figures are what scares the fans and fear leaving the club.

Hamstrings, Knee injuries, Bruises and Ankle injuries are injuries he’s suffered.

The defender has suffered another injury scare just after returning from injury in a Pre-Season game against Tottenham.

This has forced Manchester united to intensify thier interest in Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

Football pandits are calling on the club to show him the exit due to his fitness level. Again he may have been a hospital patient who’s been saved by football.
