    GBC, Radio Upper West adjudged Best Regional Station at GJA Awards.

    The Ghana Broadcasting Corporations Upper West Regional Station, Radio Upper West has been adjudged the Best Regional Station, at the 24th edition of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) awards held on Saturday, at the Kempinski Gold Coast City in Accra.

    GBC Radio Upper West 90.1mhz & 93.9mhz.


    Radio Upper West was adjudged the best Regional station while its mother station GBC also announced with its Ga and Ewe programs both on TV and Radio as the Best.
    The ceremony climaxed the 70th Anniversary celebrations of the GJA, which is on the theme, Democracy, Freedom and Independence of the Media in Ghana.
    At the end of the awards, a Journalist with the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Doreen Hammond emerged the overall best Journalist for the year 2018.
    Speaking to the Acting Upper West Regional Director of GBC, Lawrence Quarshie Tettey thanked the staff saying that it is a great achievement and was optimistic that the station can win more awards if they endure the good work.
    Mr Tettey said hard work pays and charged the staff never to relent on their duty.

    He stated that though the station is confronted with number of challenges he will work in his capacity in ensuring that the station is on course.
    The special guest of honour was the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
