The health Minister Kweku Agyemang Manu has announced that government has secured a $20m loan facility to complete the Bolgatanga regional hospital.
In 2014, former president John Mahama cut sod for the construction of the three-phase ultra modern facility. It was expected to be completed in Nine (9) months with an initial funding of $12 million from the Saudi Development plan. Messrs Bedrock Ventures were awarded the contract which has halted for over two years due to financial constrains.
The people of the Upper East region can now have a sigh of relief since the minister has announced plans to complete the facility by March 2020.
Mr. Ken Ofori Atta initialed for Ghana whilst Khalid S. Alkhudairy initialed for the kingdom of Saudi Arabia as they signed the $20m concessional loan in Accra.
The facility when completed will ease congestion and provide several additional facilities to improve healthcare delivery in the region.
