“If Dancehall Music is religion, then I’m a Forebearer” Kartam Graytnes talks more about his dexterity in Music | Harmattan Gh


The worst feeling is getting ignored or not given the necessary accolade when the harvesting time comes. This is the case of Dancehall artist Kartam Graytnes. Who with all his proficiency in Dancehall music as a sort continues to be over looked.

Christened Kariama Stayarn Abdul Sadat is an Afro Pop cum Dancehall artist based in Accra Nima but hails from Wirikambo in the Upper East region. He has been into music for the past years and has so many singles to his credit.

Shark“, “body ” “Mambo“I like am so” are but a few of the numerous songs Kartam Graytnes. “I like am so” is an Afro Pop song that talks about being respectful to ladies especially who gave birth out of wedlock. And placing more emphasis on respecting them. A music video was produced to that effect and being aired on several television stations in Ghana and Nigeria. Many pundits gave him a pat on the back for quality of the visuals.

Kartam Graytnes has mounted so many stages and represented his fans in many competitions. Recent was “My Area Code TV reality show“. He stood for the people in Nima, a surburb in Accra. Unfortunately, he was evicted at the semi finals after so many round of battle.

In an exclusive interview with Harmattangh.com, the “Shark” crooner has talked about how he started music way back and him leaving a legacy in the industry.

I starteD long ago, i chose to be a dancehall artist and that’s a calling from god. So its like a religion and that means I’m a Forebearer. My music is from the soul” he said.

His kind of mixing Afro Pop and Dancehall is unmatched. Always ready to take any challenge presented. He hopes to get far with the Grammy’s being a priority

Kartam Graytnes has so many tracks unreleased but currently working on his new single “Man No Dey” prod by Hotmix.
