The reigning Fifa men’s footballer of the year, Lionel Messi has reignited the debate about who really is the Greatest of all time(GOAT) with two superb free kick goals against Celta Vigo on Sunday night.
Messi converted a penalty to put the Laliga champions ahead and doubled the lead just before halftime with a wonderful free kick.
He returned after the break to secure his hatrick with another brilliant free kick bringing his free kick goals tally to four.
Ronaldo however is struggling to score his first free kick goal for Juventus in two seasons. The Portugese has taken over twenty free kicks for Juventus but has failed to hit the target.
Ronaldo has fifty three career free kick goals to Messi’ fourty seven but with the current turnout of events, Messi is likely to catch up with the former Manchester United player.
Messi however equals Ronaldo’s 34 Laliga goals.
They both seek to beat record set by Juninho Pernambucano of Brazil who has score Seventy seven free kick goals. He’s considered the best free kick taker.
