Music group Rockcity might have just broken the jinx of underground musicians making it to the mainstream from the Northern part of Ghana. With a brand-new video, the music group did not only portray the beautiful hotel after which the song is titled but has eulogized the beautiful landscape of the upper east region and projected the main tourism rich spots of the upper east region.

Started off with freestyles and mixtapes in their native town of Bongo in the Upper East Region, the group adopted a name that is synonymous to the dominant natural physical resources of their home town. Bongo is popularly known for its rich endowment of protruding rocks of different shapes and sizes that attracts tourists from all over the world.  A town that has produced intellectuals and world-class artistes like King Ayisoba, Stevo Atambire among others.

Unlike many other musicians seeking to break into the mainstream music marker, Rockcity has always been on one mission, thus, to bring global attention to contemporary urban music from the upper east region. They have often used their cultural settings and experiences

The group earned a considerable fanbase with their 2017 hit song ‘Bongo Beer’’. The song exploded in 2018 topping radio and pubs playlist in all towns in the upper east region, Upper west region, and Northern region. This compelled the group to reinvent their style to making music that is appealing to all sections of the society. Rockcity released several singles to popular acclaim with the latest one being Akayet.

Akayet is a party song that extolls a beautiful hotel in Bolga. The four-star hotel boasts as one of the best hotels in Ghana with Ghanaian heritage and world-class standards. The song features Article Wan of ‘Solo’’ fame with production from in-house producer – Best Beats. This new visual for the song commensurate the theme of the song by depicting great visuals of the hotel and going further to represent the upper east region as a whole with scenes from the Pikoro Rocks and Crocodile pond in Paga, the Sirigu Pottery Art center, the Azudoo rocky Mountain in Bongo and many more.

The video directed by Gordon Appiah comes with High definition graphic and transitions of the scenes are mesmerizing viewers and make the song stand out as a global standard song.
