News reaching our news desk implies that dancehall artist Shatta Wale was paid an amount of two million Ghana cedis as brand ambassador for the Exim Bank.
This issue came up at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) sitting in Parliament today.
Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu Constituency, Ras Mubarak who raised the issue maintains the artist does not deserve the said amount.
The Mp believes the nation should not be spending such amount of monies on individuals in this challenging period of Covid-19.
He also questioned the criteria and process through which the beneficiaries were selected.
Officials of the Exim Bank, however, confirmed that monies were paid to people in the creative arts industry but couldn’t confirm that of Shatta Wale.
