Member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga has blamed President Akuffo Addo for the death of Jerry John Rawlings.
Stephen Atubiga believes the former president died prematurely and he could have been saved if flown abroad for treatment.
Stephen Atubiga could not fathom why the president himself flew abroad to seek medical attention but couldn’t do same for Jerry Rawlings.
”…..he is not supposed to die, they watched him from Sunday when he was taken ill. If president Akuffo Addo really like him, he should have sent him abroad to seek medical care, they have the best medical care system. That man died prematurely ” he said.
Mr. Atubiga also charged Ghanaiana to demand a complete autopsy report on the death of the former two time President.
He also registered his dissatisfaction with the immediate Rawlings family for disregarding customary procedure to inform Nana Akuffo Addo about the death of Jerry Rawlings.
Stephen Atubiga believes John Mahama should have been informed first as the leader of the NDC.
